(Towing & Abnormal Load Escorting Services)
ToworEscort.com is a trading name for conventional towing and abnormal load
escorting services provided by Alan Douglas Roberts and/or by any of his employees, trading from Oakwood House, Aston Road, Wem, Shrewsbury, SY4 5JD, and operating from
Unit A7, Wem Industrial Estate, Soulton Road, Wem, Shropshire, SY4 5SD.
Throughout the Terms and Conditions we refer to trailers, exhibition trailers, event trailers and caravans as ‘trailed units’. We also refer to the pre-identified appropriate adult releasing and/or receiving the ‘trailed unit’ as ‘named person’.
Abnormal/Wide Load Escorting Service
1.
All services provided are subject to V.A.T. at standard rate.
2.
Payment for all completed contracts payable 30 days from date of invoice.
3.
ToworEscort.com will provide Abnormal Load Esorting services adhering to Highways England ‘Code of Practice’ and drivers will be qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Abnormal Loads – Escort Driver.
4.
Each vehicle will be marked and equipped to Industry Standards.
5.
Each ToworEscort.com vehicle will be insured appropriately to undertake it's duties as an escort vehicle.
6.
Customer to provide full details of load to be escorted (e.g. STGO Category etc.) and route prior to commencement of contract.
7.
ToworEscort.com are not able to be held liable
for any damage incurred by the escorted vehicle or load it is conveying whilst being escorted by ToworEscort.com.
8.
Any cancellation of contract agreed between ToworEscort.com and the customer prior to contract date may be liable to a cancellation fee, payable within 30 days of cancellation invoice.
9.
Any additional operational expenses accrued during contract will be added to invoices i.e. tolls, parking and £20 overnight charge (per night).
Towing Services
1. All services provided are subject to V.A.T. at standard rate.
2. Payment for services provided by ToworEscort.com are as follows:
Private Customers: 25% deposit payable at point of booking is required and none refundable from seven days prior to contracted service date, balance of payment on completion of service i.e. delivery of ‘trailed unit’.
Commercial Customers: Payment in full within 30 days of invoice date.
3. All ‘trailed units’ shall be of roadworthy/road legal condition with fully functional braking system, lighting and spare wheel. ToworEscort.com reserve the right to refuse transportation of any ‘trailed unit’ we deem non-roadworthy/road legal. An inspection of ‘trailed units’ at point of collection will be made by ToworEscort.com staff.
4. Each ‘trailed unit’ must not exceed a total gross weight of 1.5 tonnes (with braking system) - 3.5 tonne capability coming soon.
5. An inspection of the condition and/or damage relating to each ‘trailed unit’ will be taken and documented prior to and at the completion of each contracted service provided by ToworEscort.com.
6. Full collection and delivery address details with ‘named person’ releasing and receiving each trailed unit to be provided by customer to ToworEscort.com at point of booking. Changes to any of these details must be provided by the customer in writing, prior to commencement of each contract.
7. ToworEscort.com are not permitted to transport livestock of any description.
8. ToworEscort.com are not able to transport motor vehicles, unless by prior agreement and only on pre-loaded ‘trailed units’.
9. ToworEscort.com will cover the transit on a full responsibility basis up to a maximum value of £20,000. ToworEscort.com are able to increase this cover with prior notice and in addition to the transport cost to the customer.
10. Coming soon - On contracts undertaken by ToworEscort.com where the gross weight of towing vehicle and the ‘trailed unit’ combined exceed 3.5 tonnes, we are governed by tachograph regulations with restricted driving hours. In the event where contract distances exceed regulated hours permitted additional charges for drivers stopping overnight will be charged at rate agreed within quotations.
11. In the unlikely event of any complaint being placed by a customer, ToworEscort.com agrees to reply in writing with 5 working days.
12. In the unlikely event a ‘trailed unit’ is damaged by ToworEscort.com, any damage must be reported to the ToworEscort.com driver by the ‘named person’ at point of receiving the ‘trailed unit’. ToworEscort agree to start exchanging dialogue and insurance details within 48 hours. ToworEscort.com can not be held responsible for damage to a ‘trailed unit’ after the contract has been completed and received by the ‘named person’.
